  • Order and collect
Once you have decided what you want we can gather your order together for you to collect or we may be able to arrange delivery (this is not always viable or practical so please ask). There is usually a delivery charge but we do try to minimize the cost.
  • Growing or sourcing to order
We are willing to grow plants to order or source stock for you if required. If you require plug bedding plants for early spring we need advance notice, ie. at least 3 weeks. Minimum orders apply.
  • Stock lists
We keep a list of most of the varieties we grow throughout the year, though availability will vary. Unlike most garden centres we are likely to stock the bulk of the range for most of the year but the pot and plant size will alter. Please ask for list to be posted out.

           • Border design service

If you would like us to select suitable plants for your garden or border we need to know the top soil depth and type (heavy clay or sand, good loam or peat) and you could always bring a small sample. We also need you to note aspect ie. how much sun and wind the border is exposed to and then decide if you have any plant height or colour preferences. There is no charge for this service as long you buy a few plants. A few photos may also help along with a rough idea of how big the area is.

We accept cash and most types of credit cards but not cheques, unless by prior arrangement.

  • The nursery is set in 18 acres of land including 7 acres of native woodland planted in 2000 for both the wildlife and our enjoyment. This wood is now becoming established and supports a wide range of bird, insect and mammal life. By far the most abundant tree varieties being oak, ash, birch and rowan although several other varieties have been used to add interest and diversity, as well as fruit and nuts in the Autumn.
  • Although all businesses have some impact on the environment we are striving to minimize ours by recycling almost everything we use as well as reducing the use of peat in our composts.
  • This last objective isn't easy as peat is so uniform and consistent as a medium but we are using loam in most of the larger containers and attempting to use peat substitutes as often as practicable.  We are also operating a commercial plastic recycling scheme with Farm XS for all the pots, trays, bags and sheets.
